I am Sumaiya Kauser. I am a young carer who has benefited from LITD CIC support and I am happy to volunteer with LITD as a young carer and head of Youth.

I strongly believe my position will change the perspective of many other young carers who are struggling to cope with their circumstances.

Being a carer at such a young age can come with a lot of responsibilities and at times it can be a lot on the shoulders and often makes you feel like you’re having to burden yourself for others.

Hopefully my role can help young carers not to feel like that and to know they need to help themselves.
and that it’s okay if they need to reach out whenever it’s needed also to know that they are not alone.

Looking forward to be volunteering alongside LITD CIC and Beatrice Guessie in the upcoming events.

I am very grateful for the opportunity and support towards my family and myself.
